Experience Details
We will pick you up from Cooke City, MT in the morning where you will hop on a snowmobile as a passenger and we’ll travel 3 miles outside of town and up the mountain to our luxurious lodge that we call ‘The Roost’. The views of the mountain ranges from the Roost are outrageous and will be nothing like anything you have seen before. We will have breakfast and get a briefing on the days activities and cover avalanche education, rescue techniques, and passenger snowmobile riding tips and techniques. We will get an idea from you on what type of terrain you want to ski or snowboard – open bowls, trees, chutes? We’ll find the right lines based on your skill level, type of skiing/riding you want to do and the days snow stability report from one of our expert backcountry safety guides. From there we head up on a snowmobile to strategic locations that will put you on top of the most amazing untracked powder runs customized for you! Runs can be up to 1200 vertical feet of untracked powder, sometimes deep, so bring your fat skis if you are skiing and pow board if you are riding. If you are trying to maximize your skiing, we’ll pack a lunch so you can get all the powder skiing in, else we can do a BBQ lunch at the Roost. After a day of skiing we will take you back to Cooke City or take you to a spot and guide you on a ski run that takes you right back to town! Skiing up to 10,000 vertical ft. in a single day is possible!**
Once you book, we will be in touch to customize your adventure and get your preferences with food and drink. We will customize the menu for you. The elevation of the lodge is 8,600 feet. We will be skiing at a peak altitude of 10,000 feet.
Where you’ll be
